Milliways - Shawn and Jules post-date canoodling

It's been roughly a week since the Yin case was closed, and the two of them have both been dealing with the aftermath in their own ways. Tonight's way happened to include dinner, an evening movie and a stroll along the beach with ice cream.

The apartment they return to isn't the same one Juliet saw when Shawn was kidnapped - he's changed things up a bit since then. But it's still quirky and cluttered and shares its resident's unusual charm.

"Oh!" she grins. "He should have told his mom that he was practicing his hand-eye coordination. That's what Ewan used to tell our mom."

She scoots a little closer on the cushion, presses 'Select 2-Player', and squints. "So am I the Fox or the Hedgehog?" she wonders.

"You're the fox."

He picks up his own controller, kicking off his sneakers.

"But we knew that already."

"Did you just try to flirt with me by comparing me to Tails? 'Cause it's kind of working. You do look a little like a Hedgehog," she replies, but she's grinning. "At least hair-wise." She lost her heels long ago as she taps her fingers against the buttons. They and their avatars are off and running.

"Don't make me explain the joke, Jules."

He runs a hand through the spikey fluff of his hair as the pixely characters on the screen race around collecting gold rings.

He doesn't need to, actually. But she's still grinning.

He might notice her little fox is slightly ahead of his blue hedgehog at this point, though not by much. They're really pretty evenly-matched until they both have to sprint for the exit gate.

"Why you.."

He wields the controller like the steering yoke of a jet plane, getting really into it as he attempts to beat the level.

Hear that laugh, Shawn?

That is the laugh of a woman with an older brother.

Jules is halfway off the couch cushion, both of her elbows digging into her knees and the controller clutched in her hands as her nails click the x and y buttons.

... Okay, that's kind of hot.

This thought unfortunately provides juuust enough distraction for Juliet to take advantage of.

Once again, boobs have proven to be Shawn's biggest to be Shawn's downfall, and she manages to make it to the next level exactly one second before he does. "I think that's worth a victory dance."

Which is kinda hard to do when you're crouching, but Shawn's likely enjoying it anyway.

"Gah."

He collapses on the couch, managing to lean against her in the process.

Feel free to try that victory dance now.

She's totally trying! It's more of a couch dance.

"Your hedgehogs are all mine." She says. "Hah hah!" Then she kisses his earlobe.

Oh noes. The one move he's powerless against. He sort of melts against her side.

"No one likes a sore winner, Jules."

She grins against his neck. He's just sweetening the victory. "Do you want me to kiss the pain away?"

"It might help."

Cue the adorable puppydog eyes.

Like he needs to pull the puppydog eyes with her. She pecks his cheek, and kisses her way to his mouth.

Then when it breaks she gives him a noogie.

"Gaaah. Low blow."

"But you liked all my low blows." She nuzzles his cheek again.

Damn. Foiled again.

"Yeah, I can't really argue with that."

She just may've figured out how to keep him focused. "I...think we're supposed to be at level two..." Only she's kind of kissing his cheek and down the side of his neck.

He raises an eyebrow.

"Oh, we can take this to the next level."

Oh Shawn, you've said the magic words.

She grabs him by the collar and then holds him to her mouth by his ears.

Eventually her arms come around his shoulders to hold him tight.

They've accidentally killed three hedgehogs in the name of making-out, but but's all right by her.

He pulls back from her, grinning.

"I think you win."

Juliet's hair's all disheveled, and her skin is rosy and warm. She's still holding onto his shoulders loosely.

And she's wearing the biggest grin ever.

"We both won."

Everyone's won tonight. Except for the hedgehogs. The TV's displaying the game's opening graphics again, but she doesn't even notice it.
